Wikipedia Identity
Moving Brands created a mark that leveraged the ownability of “W.” The mark is created from five lines that reference the “5 pillars,” and also represents the nine sister sites with nine equidistant nodes. As a living identity, the mark uses javascript to self-generate a unique movement and mark for every search term. This mark highlights where information exists on Wikimedia sister sites, advocating broader information gathering and encouraging contribution where content is missing. The mark forms a new, global semiotic language and references the collaboratively sourced, frequently updated information that makes up Wikpedia’s offer.

Beetroot designs the new logo of the Thessaloniki based public action community Thessalonistas. Excellent job!
Their aspiration is to help in transforming the urban terrain yielding to a more humane, vital, colorful and more environmental city.
This kind of community is in need of a solid visual identity, simple and understandable by anyone. The usage of the city’s main landmark, the White Tower, as the main figure for everything dealing with Thessaloniki, is an approach we wouldn’t normally consider; In the specific case of the “Thessalonistas”, due to the fact that the shape of the tower is easily recognizable as an indent by everyone, we’ve came with this logo which implies the illustration with the creative use of typography.
